Water distribution sites established in San Miguel County

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Authorities with the City of Las Vegas and San Miguel County have created locations to distribute water to residents.

“We are continuing to provide as many water resources as possible to assist the residents with their water consumption needs while we continue to increase our water reserves. We truly appreciate your cooperation with the water conservation needs of the community,” states a released from the city.


Sandbag-filling volunteers needed in San Miguel County

Starting on Sunday at 12 p.m., “bulk” water will be distributed at three locations. Daily, this will continue, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents are asked to bring their own containers and address verification.

The sites are listed below:
– City of Las Vegas Utilities (905 12th Street – Las Vegas, NM 87701)
– Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department (15 Ojitos Frios Route – Las Vegas, NM 87701)
– Sapello Fire Station (425 NM Highway 94 – Sapello, NM 87745)

Additionally, authorities are asking residents to use bottled water they’ve received as donations. To pick up donated bottled water, visit the sites below:
– Rodriguez Park (1308 Grant Street) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
– Robertson High School Mike Marr Gymnasium Parking Lot (Corner of Mills Avenue and 2nd Street) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
