WWE Raw superstars Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have been involved in a heated rivalry for months. Since Punk’s return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, he has been welcomed by past and present stars. However, among these stars, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre have been unhappy with his return.
At the WWE Royal Rumble 2024, CM Punk injured his triceps, leading Drew McIntyre to take his spot at WrestleMania 40. McIntyre won the WWE World title at WrestleMania, but Punk attacked him, which led to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank. Since then, Punk has repeatedly sabotaged McIntyre’s chances to reclaim the world title.
McIntyre faced another setback at Clash at the Castle: Scotland when he fought Damian Priest. Punk interfered again, costing McIntyre the title in front of his home crowd. Following this, McIntyre announced he was quitting WWE, but this was part of his plan. He ambushed CM Punk in Chicago, leaving him bloodied and even taking Punk’s bracelet. Punk was taken away on a stretcher in an ambulance, and McIntyre sent him a personal message ahead of WWE Raw, intensifying their rivalry.

Last week on WWE Raw, Drew McIntyre announced that he would be taking part in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Ahead of WWE Raw, McIntyre shared a post with his wife and his cat. However, he mocked CM Punk by wearing the bracelet he took from him. Fans noticed that the bracelet Punk wore had the names of his wife, AJ Lee, and his dog, Larry, on it.
Drew McIntyre’s wife recently underwent emergency surgery, which kept her from attending Clash at the Castle. Now, McIntyre is aiming to win the Money in the Bank qualifying match on WWE Raw. He is scheduled to face Sheamus and Ilja Dragunov in a triple-threat match.
