Fanatics has quickly become one of the biggest names in the trading cards sector, having secured the rights to manufacture and distribute trading cards for multiple sports organizations in the United States. Now, Michael Rubin, the founder and CEO of the company, has revealed that they want to work with one of the biggest pop stars in the world, Taylor Swift.

Here is what Rubin said about the Taylor Swift trading cards.

Besides their impressive sports collection, Fanatics also makes trading cards featuring celebrities from the film and music industries. In a recent interview, Rubin disclosed that they were interested in making Taylor Swift trading cards and had even spoken to Swift about it.

“We should have Taylor Swift cards,” Rubin told People. “We actually asked her a year ago,”

According to Rubin, they “didn’t push too hard” at the time for the collaboration. However, he is interested in doing it in the future. “I mean a Taylor and Trav [Travis Kelce] card together would be amazing,” he explained.

Fanatics has benefited significantly from the relationship between Kelce and Swift. It is evidenced by a 400% increase in sales of Kelce’s jersey following Swift’s attendance at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023. Swift’s frequent presence at sporting events has positively impacted the company, which sells Kelce’s jerseys and other NFL collectibles.

“Travis Kelce was one of the top 5 selling NFL players and saw a nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com,” a spokesperson for Fanatics revealed to the outlet at the time.

Fanatics could potentially attract a massive global fanbase that currently follows Swift to purchase trading cards featuring her. This includes a demographic that might not otherwise be interested in trading cards. Rubin told the outlet that his daughter was not a fan of trading cards. This was until she learned about a collaboration with one of her favorite musicians.

“When we did the Travis Scott launch at Fanatics Fest, she’s like, ‘Dad, I want those cards! They’re insane,’” he explained.
