Even though the film is already out, an interview with Unilad from the film’s promotional tour has gone viral. Following the singer’s statement, the Atlas co-stars exchanged a cold gaze in the interaction video.
In one of the key moments of the interview, Liu turned to Jennifer and Sterling, asking, “What is your go-to comfort meal?” In response, Jennifer says, “Go-to comfort meal? It could be any — well, I grew up, I’m Puerto Rican. So I like rice and beans — .” Sterling K. Brown interrupts Lopez, asking in a seemingly sarcastic tone, “Are you Puerto Rican?” to which she immediately replies with a “Yes, I am.”
The camera captures Sterling K. Brown’s expressions going from excited to irritated at Lopez’s “Puerto Rican” remark as per BroBible. Brown actor then cheekily mocks Lopez’s remark saying, “Get out of here. Arroz, frijoles, a me gusta French toast.” Furthermore, Lopez’s expressions appear to intensify in response to her co-star’s remark.
According to the same BroBible interview, the interaction sparked a social media controversy. A person commented on Unilad’s Instagram image, “Sterling is so sick of her sh—t.” Another poster referred to Sterling K. Brown as “savage” for shutting down Jennifer Lopez.
