Watkins was released on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 25. Her attorney has asked the public for patience, stating that the full details will reveal a different perspective. In a statement to ESPN, a South Carolina program spokesperson said, “We are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather information.”
According to Newsweek, Watkins is a key player for the South Carolina Gamecocks and contributed to their recent national championship team. And she did not kidnap anyone.”
