Dancing with the Stars’ Julianne Hough recently opened up about her divorce with Brooks Laich, which has piqued fans’ curiosity about the couple’s relationship. Hough and Laich started dating in 2014, got engaged in 2015 and tied the knot in 2017. However, they got divorce in 2022.

Julianne Hough shares details of her divorce
Julianne Hough recently revealed on The Jamie Kern Lima Show that she felt like a “little girl” in her relationship with Brooks Laich, which she initially enjoyed. However, she revealed that when she “started becoming more of a woman,” she began listening to her own voice more and not her “10-year-old voice.”
The TV star further shared that after she later developed a different persepective on life and began questioning her own beliefs. This also included Hough exploring her sexual orientation. However, her journey of “expansion” and growing as a person clashed with Laich’s own journey. She revealed that after Laich “had just got let go from playing Hockey,” he faced “an identity shift.”
The clash between their respective personal journeys put them in a spot where they could not understand each other emotionally. At the time Hough thought she and Laich did not have “the maturity to come together” and work out their relationship.
Following their divorce, however, Hough said she and Laich wish “that there would have been potentially a different outcome.” Nevertheless, she added that “everything has happened the way that it should have happened.”
