Grammy-nominated supergroup BTS debuted on June 13, 2013. Every year, the K-pop septet celebrates a special month with content usually titled “BTS Festa.” However, right after June, BTS members organize a unique occasion in July, known as the “BTS ARMY month.”

July 9 is marked as BTS ARMY Day to commemorate the group’s first use of the name “ARMY” for their fans. It is an acronym, A.R.M.Y, that stands for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth.”
After disclosing the fan club name in July 2013, the official recruitment started in December of the same year. Later, BTS leader RM revealed that the group was in a dilemma to choose from a couple of names to call their fans. Other choices besides ARMY were “Bang-wools” or “Bells.”

Every year, BTS prepares something special for ARMY Day to make it meaningful for the fans who have supported them. For this year’s BTS ARMY Day, Kim Taehyung, aka V, will release a photobook titled Type 1. The forthcoming project will unveil a side of the star that fans have not seen much of.
BigHit Music says the photobook will capture “V’s moments of complete rest, revealing his comfortable and natural self as he takes a break from his busy schedule to enjoy some time alone.”
BTS V had earlier teased about releasing a photobook to fans, and the music label shared that he has participated in every step of the planning and production. He also selected the travel destinations, the title, and the photobook’s components.
Before BTS ARMY day, the seven members wrote letters to fans about the group’s anniversary date. The letters reflected the group’s sincerity as they look forward to their comeback and reunion in 2025.
