The Star of Jacob TikTok trend involves users uploading reels showing a small but clearly visible circular star in the night sky. Some of these users claimed that the star’s visibility heralded the re-emergence of Jesus Christ on Earth.

This new rend kicked off one week ago, courtesy of TikToker Jacob Rutkowski.
In the video, Rutkowski said the Star of Jacob would only be there for a month and explained its significance. He called it the star that the “three men who were coming to see the Messiah saw.”
Rutkowski then told the Biblical story about how the three wise men who followed a very bright star the day Jesus was born, were able to find him in Jerusalem, subsequently bowing down to and worshipping him. He then claimed that the Star of Jacob was no ordinary star and that it marked Jesus’ return.
Is the Star of Jacob real?
It is a subject of debate as to whether the Star of Jacob is real or not. There are several users, however, who seem to believe that it is not a real and literal star.
One such user is the TikToker @the.bible.teacher who took to the platform and uploaded a 50-second video addressing it was not real, but instead a prophecy from the scriptures. The prophecy is as follows:
“Numbers 24:17: I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star is emerging from Jacob; a scepter is rising from Israel, and it smashes the brow of Moab and the foundation of all the sons of Seth.”
The user then opined that the biblical prophecy rumor being fulfilled was rather outlandish, encouraging viewers to relax in a humorous manner.
