When did Bunny die in Only Murders in the Building?

Bunny Folger in Only Murders in the Building died in the Season 1 finale.

As per Sportskeeda, Jayne Houdyshell portrayed Bunny Folger, a sharp-tongued and cantankerous older woman, in Only Murders in the Building. In the Season 1 finale, titled “Open and Shut,” Bunny, the former president of the Arconia tenant board, is found dead in Mabel’s apartment. The scene reveals Mabel Mora leaning over Bunny’s bloody body, later revealed in Season 2 to have been stabbed eight times in the chest. Meanwhile, Charles-Haden Savage and Oliver Putnam are also present, standing behind Mabel. The trio’s arrest left viewers frustrated, as it was clear they were being framed.

Who killed Bunny in Only Murders in the Building?

The killer of Bunny Folger in Only Murders in the Building was none other than Poppy White, aka Becky Buttler.

Unfortunately, the old lady Bunny was intentionally murdered by Poppy White. This shocking twist came to light in Season 2, where we learned her real name is Becky Butler. Poppy worked as an assistant to Cinda Canning, who was a competitor in the true-crime podcast scene. Her motive for killing Bunny was to create a sensational murder case that would boost her career in true crime.

Becky’s ambition to reach the point of success was far from satisfied even after murdering Bunny. Instead, she was determined to unseat Cinda her boss, and launch her podcast. Meanwhile, Becky, who aspired to a life of luxury, had her sights set on the renowned Rose Cooper painting valued at $14 million. This was displayed in Bunny’s home. To divert suspicion, she framed Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, who were already gaining a lot of attention with their podcast.

However, the trio managed to piece together her true identity through inconsistencies in her story and some subtle hints. Ultimately led to her confession when they confronted her. Mabel, Charles, and Oliver cleverly set her up during a live podcast recording, forcing her to reveal her real identity and motives, which resulted in her arrest.
