WJSN’s Yeonjung reveals there “aren’t any concrete plans” for a group comeback

WJSN singer Yeonjung has revealed that there are currently plans in the works for the girl group to make a comeback.

WJSN’s Yeonjung was recently spoke to South Korean outlet Newsen about her role in the Korean production of the stage musical Lizzie. During the interview the K-pop idol also touched on the future activities of the girl group, whose last release together was in July 2022.

After opening up about her love for the stage, Yeonjung told the outlet that there are no plans for new music from WJSN. “There aren’t any concrete plans for WJSN activities, but there are so many good songs, even just from side tracks,” she said, as translated by Koreaboo.

“While doing the curtain call for Lizzie, I realised how much I want to do a concert. It’s already fun to do a brief curtain call like this, so imagine how fun it would be to gather and have a full concert,” the singer added.

The girl group first debuted with in 2016 as a joint project between Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment, with Yeonjung joining the line-up in July 2016. The group’s three Chinese members – Chengxiao, Meiqi and Xuanyi – would later leave the group in early 2023.

In other news, streams of K-pop music on a global scale has seen a jump of over 300 per cent in the last five years, according to new Spotify data.

Meanwhile, TWICE‘s Japanese sub-unit MISAMO have released a remake of Namie Amuro’s 2008 track ‘New Look’.
