Woman sentenced for string of armed robberies around Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Adriana Gonzales was sentenced to eight years behind bars for a string of robberies. She pleaded guilty to three charges of armed robbery.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 24, Gonzales pulled a gun on an employee at the Circle-K near Alameda and Ellison. Then a few hours later, she reportedly did it again to a Family Dollar employee on Eubank. Two days later, she allegedly robbed another Family Dollar on Sage Road near Unser. 

Gonzales was arrested in April and was with Mark Benavidez at the time. Gonzales was taken without incident, but when attempting to arrest Benavidez, he grabbed an officer’s rifle and fired multiple shots. Officers shot and killed Benavidez.
