On Thursday, September 19, The Capitol Theatre hosted an evening billed as Yes, Epics, Classics & More, featuring the British prog-rock group’s original singer, 79-year-old Jon Anderson. The bandleader was joined by Band Geeks, comprised of Andy Graziano, Rob Kipp, Andy Ascolese, Richie Castellano, Chris Clark, and Ann Marie Nacchio, and special guests, The Return Of Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

During the event, Johnson and his ensemble of instrumentalists paid tribute to the songs of Yes, pulling from the band’s archive, reprising selections and fan favorites from the group’s expansive repertoire. On the docket were pieces from their self-titled debut, 1971’s Fragile, 1972’s Close to the Edge, and more that alluded to their place in music history.
