Del Taco has a new line of value meals in the style popularized by McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal last June.
The Lake Forest chain calls them Del’s Mucho Meal$. There are four to choose them, starting at $4.49 and going up to $7.49, according to a news release.
Each meal features an entrée, a small order of crinkle-cut fries, one Mini Cinnamon Churro and a 16-ounce fountain drink.
Like McDonald’s and other chains, it pulls some items off its a la carte value menu for its value meals.
The $4.49 meal features two Snack Tacos. A $5.49 B&C Burrito Mucho Meal meal features a Bean & Cheese Burrito with the choice of red or green sauce. A $6.49 Double Taco Mucho Meal includes a Del Taco, which features ground beef in a crunchy shell, and a Grilled Chicken Taco with a soft flour tortilla. A $7.49 Chicken Lover’s Mucho Meal includes a Grilled Chicken Taco and a Chicken Cheddar Roller.
We tested the $4.49 meal, going through a drive-thru for the order. We were immediately offered the chance to add an extra snack taco to the order for $1.09 and to upgrade to a medium or large meal, but we stuck with the meal as advertised. The total came to $4.88, including tax.
Del Taco is also bringing back its Biscoff Cookie Butter Shake for a limited time. It introduced the dessert last November.
