Amazon deal of the day: Snag the Sonos Arc soundbar at a new record-low price

One of the things holding us back from recommending the Sonos Arc soundbar as one of our top picks is the price. At $899, it’s a bit steep, but today’s discount at Amazon drops it down to a more approachable $719. Its audio profile is fabulous, with crisp dialogue, thumping bass, and deep layers — all bolstered by Dolby Atmos. As our friends at PCMag (which is owned by Mashable’s publisher, Ziff Davis) noted in their review, “The impressive Sonos Arc takes the best parts of the company’s other soundbars and combines them into one Dolby Atmos-compatible package.”

Runners, here’s a sweet deal for you: the Garmin Forerunner 265S smartwatch is down from $449.99 to $349.99 as of Aug. 27. That’s 22% in savings and its lowest price on record. What’s there to say about Apple’s AirPods Max that hasn’t been said? The stupidly comfy headphones look good, sound great, and play well with Apple gadgetry. They’re also stupidly expensive at $549. As of Aug. 27, however, you can save 27% and pick up a pair for only $399. That’s just $16 shy of the record-low price they hit following Prime Day.

Kindle devices rarely see discounts; even on Prime Day, the savings were minimal. So, when we see a price drop, we have to highlight it. This time it’s on the classic Kindle. Typically $99.99, you can pick it up on Aug. 27 for just $84.99. That’s the same price it hit on Prime Day, for what it’s worth. Released in 2022, “Amazon’s newest basic Kindle is compact, has a long battery life, and makes on-the-go reading a breeze,” Mashable reviewer writes. It comes with three free months of Kindle Unlimited ($35.97 value), which gives you unlimited access to over 2 million titles, thousands of audiobooks, and more.

A more affordable competitor to the Google Nest, Amazon’s Smart Thermostat can help optimize your HVAC energy use and smarten up your home. You can ask Alexa to adjust the temperature while you’re snug in bed, or automatically tune your thermostat to suit your preferences when you arrive home. Regularly $80, you can snag it on sale on Aug. 27 for $63.99. That’s not the lowest price it’s ever been, but it’s the biggest price drops since early June.
