Boys Be Brave! aired episodes 7 and 8 on Thursday, May 16, 2024, on Heavenly. Starring Kim Sung-Hyun and Nam Shi-An, the Korean BL drama focuses on two former college mates falling in love with each other.
In the previous episode, Jung Gi-Seop (Nam Shi-An) moved out of Kim Jin-Woo’s (Kim Sung-Hyun) house. Later, Gi-Seop realized his feelings for Jin-Woo and rushed to his home. With the help of Jin-Woo’s father, Gi-Seop finds out about his whereabouts and arrives at his hometown. The episode ended with the two lead characters hugging each other.
The final two episodes of Boys Be Brave! deal with confessions, rejections, and reunions. Aside from Gi-Seop and Jin-Woo, the relationship between Choi Balg-Eum (Jung Yeo-Joon) and Ji In-Ho (Ahn Se-Min) is also explored. While the lead characters find their happy ending, Balg-Eum and In-Ho’s story ends on a bittersweet note.

Boys Be Brave! episode 7 begins with Jin-Woo reaching his hometown after learning that Gi-Seop is there. When he exits a train, he sees Gi-Seop, and the two tightly hug each other. They share a heart-fluttering moment when Gi-Seop lends his jacket to him.
Jin-Woo asks Gi-Seop why he gave up on him. In response, Gi-Seop explains that their one-week contract ended, and he failed to become Jin-Woo’s type. He also mentions that he saw Jin-Woo with Hye-Jin during the first snow. Jin-Woo clarifies that there is nothing between him and Hye-Jin and that he is going to confess his feelings to Gi-Seop.
Jin-Woo learns that his father contacted Gi-Seop because he needs a document urgently. When Jin-Woo tells Gi-Seop that his father prioritizes his career more than his son, Gi-Seop tears up the document. Later, he tries to fix it at Jin-Woo’s home, where the latter converses with his dad via video call. The father and son share an emotional moment, and Jin-Woo’s father praises Gi-Seop.
In the attic, romantic tension builds up between Gi-Seop and Jin-Woo. The former realizes that Jin-Woo is the only one who can calm him down. That night, Gi-Seop sneaks out of Jin-Woo’s room and makes a schedule for the next day. He tries to seek his friend Balg-Eum’s help, but he doesn’t pick up. The following day, Gi-Seop takes Jin-Woo to a museum and confesses that he saw one of Jin-Woo’s birthday cards. In it, he mentioned that he wanted to go to space with his family. Therefore, Gi-Seop brings him to a space museum.
Seeing Gi-Seop’s gesture, Jin-Woo confesses his feelings and asks him out on a date. Jin-Woo assumes that Gi-Seop will accept his proposal, but the latter says, “Sorry.”
Boys Be Brave! episode 8 recap & spoilers: Nam Shi-An confesses his love to Kim Sung-Hyun
Boys Be Brave! episode 8 (finale) begins with Gi-Seop arriving at Jin-Woo’s house and confessing his love. Gi-Seop states that he likes Jin-Woo and wants to go out with him. Jin-Woo looks confused because Gi-Seop rejected his proposal the other day.
Gi-Seop explains that he had to sort out some things with his sister before saying yes to Jin-Woo. A flashback shows Gi-Seop telling his sister that he doesn’t want to go to the US and wants to stay by Jin-Woo’s side. When he mentions the details to Jin-Woo, the latter feels shy. The two kiss each other and become an official couple. From this moment on, they spend time clinging to each other every single day.
One evening, Gi-Seop calls Balg-Eum, but the latter doesn’t pick up again. Worried, Gi-Seop and Jin-Woo visit Balg-Eum’s apartment the next day. Gi-Seop finds Balg-Eum depressed in his room. He cheers up his friend and takes him out for a meal with Jin-Woo. The trio signs in to work at a New Year event, held by Balg-Eum’s restaurant owner.
On the day of the event, Hye-Jin arrives at the rooftop venue with her friends. Although she still has issues with Gi-Seop, she is happy for Jin-Woo. The couple shares a few romantic moments at their part-time work. Meanwhile, In-Ho arrives at the venue to meet Balg-Eum. He apologizes to the latter for making him uncomfortable and also expresses his love for him. In response, Balg-Eum mentions that he also likes him but needs time to lead a better life. He asks In-Ho to wait for him. Their story ends on a bittersweet note as In-Ho and Balg-Eum part ways with the hope of reuniting in the future.
Meanwhile, Gi-Seop and Jin-Woo get their happy ending. As a New Year wish, Jin-Woo wants Gi-Seop’s wishes to come true. Gi-Seop wishes to see the first snow next year with Jin-Woo and desires that they always recognize each other at first sight. The final scene features Jin-Woo climbing up the stairs while Gi-Seop is going down. They appear to be strangers to each other but keep staring at each other as if they know who the other person is. It is unclear if the scene is a flashback or their next life.
