Disneyland will close another attraction, restaurant and Galaxy’s Edge entrance

Construction work on the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride will force Disneyland to close another attraction, shutter a popular restaurant and restrict access to a returning nighttime spectacular and three themed lands just as the busy summer season begins.

The ever-expanding scope of construction work on the west side of Disneyland will grow even wider in early July as crews put the finishing touches on the conversion of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Hungry Bear restaurant will close on July 8 for kitchen refurbishments as part of the overall renovation of Critter Country. The restrooms on the lower level of the restaurant will also be closed during construction.

The closure of the bridge in front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on July 8 will cut off access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge via the Critter Country entrance. The Frontierland entrance to Galaxy’s Edge will remain open.

Reopening dates for Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, Hungry Bear restaurant and the Critter Country entrance to Galaxy’s Edge have not yet been announced.

The latest closures join the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction and the Briar Patch and Pooh’s Corner gift shops that have already been closed as part of the Critter Country makeover and conversion of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Louis’ Critter Club will take over the half of Pooh Corner closest to the former Splash Mountain log ride while Ray’s Berets will replace the Briar Patch shop. The new Princess and the Frog log flume ride will open later this year along with the rest of the attractions and shops in Critter Country.

Construction on the westside of the park that has limited access to New Orleans Square, Critter Country and Galaxy’s Edge is further complicated by the return of the “Fantasmic” nighttime spectacular along the Rivers of America and the extended closures of the Haunted Mansion and the New Orleans Square train station of the Disneyland Railroad.
