Fahadh Faasil’s latest film, Aavesham, has become the fifth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. While the film has maintained its momentum at the box office, recent reports confirm that it will soon be available for streaming.
Written and directed by Jithu Madhavan, Aavesham made its theatrical debut on April 11, 2024. Since then, it has garnered significant praise from both audiences and critics. The film’s cast includes Fahadh Faasil, Pranav Raj, Mithun Jai Shankar, and Roshan Shanavas. Additionally, Midhutty, Sajin Gopu, Krishna Kumar, and Mansoor Ali Khan are seen in supporting roles.
The film follows the story of three teenagers who move to Bangalore to pursue higher studies. However, their seniors bully them constantly. To seek revenge, the three enlist the help of a local gangster. The film is about to surpass the $17.9 million mark in global box office earnings, with its current collection standing at $16.9 million.
When will Aavesham arrive on OTT?
According to 123telugu, Aavesham maight make its digital debut on May 9, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video. However, it is important to note that an official announcement from the streaming platform is still pending.
Since its trailer release, fans have compared the film with Romancham, as both films have been directed by Jithu Madhavan. However, the director debunked these comparisons, stating, “While ‘Romancham’ was all about goosebumps, Aavesham is an Excitement. There is no connection between the two. We planned Aavesham as a complete commercial package.”
Regarding Fahadh’s character as Ranga, the director confirmed that the character is inspired by a real-life gangster in Bengaluru. He clarified, “Let me clarify there is no resemblance to Sayed Mohammed. Both the characters are inspired by the kind of gangsters you see in Bengaluru, but they are not the same.”
