Flash Flood Warning issued for burn scars in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The National Weather Service is warning of flash flooding on Sunday.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the Blue 2, South Fork, and McBride burn scars in Lincoln County. The warning lasts until 8 p.m.

The following areas could be impacted by flooding:

Rio Bonito

Eagle Creek

Cedar Creek

Rio Ruidoso drainages, downstream along the Rio Hondo

On Saturday, flash floods hit parts of Ruidoso and the Albuquerque Metro. Select areas of Ruidoso were evacuated, and roads were closed. Those roads are listed below:

Gavilan Canyon from Sutton to Meander

Paradise Canyon from Country Club to Phillips Circle

Hull Road from Royal to Paradise Canyon
