Chance Perdomo’s Andre Anderson role won’t be replaced for the second season of Prime Video’s Gen V, the show’s producers confirmed in a statement shared on social media. The producers decided to leave the actor’s role untouched as a way “to pay respect to his memory.”

“As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory,” the statement read. “We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”

The up-and-coming actor, also known for his starring roles in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the After film series, has tragically passed away due to a motorcycle accident on March 30, 2024. He was 27.

When is Gen V Season 2 coming out?

Production on the second season of Gen V was due to begin in late March but has understandably been delayed following the actor’s untimely passing. No release date has been set yet for Season 2, but the producers also confirmed in a statement that they will begin production this May. Before Perdomo’s passing, Gen V stars that are expected to return for Season 2 include Jaz Sinclair, Derek Luh, London Thor, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, and Asa Germann.

Gen V is a spin-off to The Boys, following the lives of “hormonal, competitive” young adult superheroes at Godolkin University as they compete to get a chance to join an elite superhero team, all while putting “their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test.”

Gen V Season 1 is available to stream on Prime Video.
