I’m excited to share an important update for those working with EP publications and EBD products. The European Patent Office (EPO) has released new DTDs version 1.6. If you’re using the XML DTDs ep-patent-document for EP publications or ep-bulletin for the EBD product, this update is for you!
What’s New in DTDs Version 1.6?
The latest DTDs include significant updates primarily related to the Unitary Patent system. Here’s a brief overview:
Unitary Patent Integration: The new version 1.6 DTDs are designed to handle data related to the Unitary Patent. This means your XML data will be ready to include Unitary Patent information once the system is officially launched.
Enhanced Compatibility: These DTDs maintain backward compatibility, ensuring that your existing setups and integrations continue to function smoothly while incorporating the new features.
How to Get the Update:
Download: Access the EP_UP-package-V2 (zip file) from the EPO download area.
Read the Documentation: Be sure to review the readme file included in the package for detailed information on the updates and how to integrate them into your systems.
