Is Billie Eilish’s ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ a double album?

Billie Eilish has just released her new album ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ – but according to fans, it might actually be a secret double album.

Those who have listened to Eilish’s brand new album, which dropped yesterday (May 17), may have heard its final line: “But when can I hear the next one?”

That line – along with some other hints – have fans convinced that Billie Eilish will make a similar move to Taylor Swift. The popstar recently released ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘, revealing a surprise release a double album dubbed ‘The Anthology’ hours after.

Billie Eilish could release a double album as the ending of credits of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT stating the phrase:

On top of that, fans think Eilish’s use of colour might be a second hint to a double album. To tease ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’, Eilish has been using lots of blue, whether it’s on her album cover or on the billboards promoting her record.

However, Eilish has also been wearing items of red clothing in a specific bright shade, which has fans believing there might be more to the eye than just ‘Hit Me’. The colours would also match up with the two lead characters of the game ‘ilomilo’, which Eilish has even written a song about on her debut album ‘When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go‘.

Reviewing ‘Hit Me’ upon release yesterday, NME gave it four stars, writing: “Billie came into this process with aspirations to find herself, creatively and personally: ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ remains distinctly unique, a portrait of a singular talent entering young adulthood, exploring her queerness and experiencing the emotional thrill and (sometimes) catastrophe of chasing passion or falling in love.

“In trying to write an album for herself, she’s made one that will resonate harder than anything she’s done before.”

Elsewhere, Eilish and Finneas opened up about the album, saying they have “never ever ever loved something more”. “Finneas and i put so much into this album and have never ever ever loved something more,” Eilish wrote in an Instagram post. “we hope you enjoy it so much and i’ll see you on the other side EEEEEEEEEEEEEK HMHAS OUT NOW EVERYWHERE LOVE YOU ALL TO DEAAAAATH!!!!”
