Jaws Gets Retold in LEGO in Video for New Set

To mark the announcement of the LEGO Ideas Jaws set, the toy brick company has made a very abridged version of Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster.

The video, titled ”Jaws in a Jiffy,” puts all our favorite Amity Island residents into blocky form in a 90-second whiz through the two-hour movie.

The Jaws LEGO set depicts the iconic boat-chomping shark and the boat in question, the Orca. It also has minifigs of Chief Martin Brody, Marine Biologist Matt Hooper, and shark hunter Sam Quint. There’s also a cute printed tile of the iconic “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” line to put on the display.

The official description for the set reads ”Build the ultimate fan-inspired display set that recreates the thrilling scene in the movie Jaws where Quint, Chief Brody and Hooper faced down the shark from the deck of the Orca.”

It has 1497 pieces and is set to be released on August 6, 2024. You can pre-order it here.

Jaws is Steven Spielberg’s breakthrough blockbuster based on Peter Benchley’s novel about a man-eating shark terrorizing a holiday town as it ramps up for July 4th celebrations. It’s spawned three sequels, countless imitators, and even a stage play.
