[1] Attorney speaks after former BCSO deputy’s DWI case is dropped – The attorney for a former BCSO deputy is speaking out after the former deputy’s DWI chase was dropped. On January 1, former deputy Adrienne Seay was arrested for DWI. The District Attorney’s Office says the claims from the offer who arrested her were not backed up by lapel video and her field sobriety tests were inconclusive. Seay resigned from BCSO after her arrest.

[2] Bernalillo County Commissioners select top 3 candidates for county manager – Bernalillo County commissioners narrowed their search for the next county manager to three candidates. The top three candidates are Cindy Chavez, Marco Gonzales and Joseph Lessard. Current Bernalillo County Manager Julie Morgas Baca plans to retire at the end of the month.

[3] Record heat returns to New Mexico – Temperatures will be heating up today, rising back into the 80s, 90s and 100s. The heat wave will continue Thursday, thanks to high pressure overhead. The low elevations will stay dry and mostly sunny, with increasing clouds around sunset. Similar conditions are expected Thursday. The next storm will arrive on Friday, bringing more widespread showers and storms to the northern half of the state.

[4] Albuquerque neighborhood concerned over new drug recovery center – State of the Heart Recovery Center recently bought a building near Lomas and San Pedro. The group is planning to launch new services for people recovering from drug addiction. Neighbors in the area say they are worried about the type of people that would be around their homes. The clinic is expected to open July 1.

[5] New Mexico State Parks to offer free admission on Friday – This Friday, the New Mexico Tourism Department is opening all 35 state parks to residents for free in honor of National New Mexico Day. the parks division says they hope people will take time to explore the parks. You must show a valid New Mexico ID to enter the parks. Camping and rental fees still apply.
