The latest movie Laapataa Ladies, helmed by Kiran Rao, took the whole country by storm with its impactful storytelling. Produced by Aamir Khan, the film brought fresh faces to the Bollywood scene. The movie starred Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastava in the lead roles. Ever since the release, fans have been discussing the off-screen chemistry between Sparsh and Pratibha. After many dating rumors, the two actors finally addressed the speculations.
For the unversed, Laapataa Ladies follows the story of Phool (Nitanshi Goel) and Jaya (Pratibha Ranta), two newlywed brides who get exchanged on a train. Set in the early 2000s, Phool tries to survive at a railway station, while Jaya manages to escape from her abusive husband and lead her life on her own terms. On the other hand, Phool’s husband Deepak (Sparsh Shrivastava) leaves no stone unturned in finding her. While the story came out to be entertaining, it taught the viewers several values, including women empowerment. Besides the three stars, the movie also has Chhaya Kadam, Ravi Kishan, Geeta Agrawal Sharma, and more.

Following the movie’s success on OTT, Sparsh Shrivastava and Pratibha Ranta were often seen making videos together. They recently held an Ask Me Anything session for their fans on Instagram. While they were answering several questions, a fan asked if they were dating in real life. In reply, Pratibha Ranta said, “Are we? Of course not.” Later, Sparsh added, “Yaar ek ladka aur ladki sirf dost bhi ho sakte hai (a guy and a girl can just be friends).” They then attempted to make a half-heart and a thumbs-up with their hands but failed.
Another fan asked Sparsh if women in his life are also missing. To this, the Shake It Up India actor said yes in a hilarious way. When asked if Jaya and Deepak could end up together in an alternate universe, the two actors gave it a thumbs up. While Pratibha mentioned that they could become best friends, Sparsh asked Kiran Rao to write something for the two characters to get together.
