Grohl attended Gallagher’s fourth and final gig at The O2 in the capital on Tuesday (June 11) as part of his current UK and Ireland ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour.

LG was pictured backstage with Grohl and the latter’s daughters, Violet and Harper. At one point in the concert, Gallagher gave the Foos musician a shout-out from the stage.

“Right then you fucking lunatics,” he told the crowd. “This one’s for the one and only Dave Grohl.” The singer and his band then launched into a rendition of Oasis’ 1994 single ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’.

Another fan-shot video shows Grohl enjoying the performance from his section of The O2 while holding his pint in the air. Check out the posts below.

Grohl co-wrote and played drums on Gallagher’s 2022 single ‘Everything’s Electric’ from his third and latest solo album, ‘C’mon You Know’.

During an interview with NME shortly after the track’s release, Grohl hailed LG as “one of the few last remaining rock stars”.

He said: “It’s like putting a fucking quarter in a jukebox and just turning it up with that guy. It’s fucking great. Obviously, he’s an amazing singer and he’s a fucking rock star.”

In response, Gallagher posted on Twitter: “He’s correct, the rest of them are useless.” Later that year, he shared: “Dave Grohl is the most inspiring musician person on the PLANET tday [sic].”

The latter comment came after LG performed live with Foo Fighters at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at London’s Wembley Stadium. Together they played ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ and ‘Live Forever’.

In 2014, Grohl called Oasis “the greatest rock band I’ve ever seen in my life” and said it was “a shame” that they broke up: “To know that they’re out there somewhere but they won’t come together to do the thing that everybody would love so much…”

LG is performing ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full on his current tour and airing numerous other tracks from that era, including the Noel-sung ‘Half The World Away’ (which he dedicated to his estranged brother and former bandmate) and Noel‘s Oasis-era ‘Lock All The Doors’ demo.
