A significant update regarding WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia has emerged, as the promotion gears up to host its next PLE in the country. The partnership began in 2018, marking the start of a 10-year strategic multi-platform partnership between WWE and the Saudi General Sports Authority.

In November 2019, WWE announced that it had expanded its partnership with the General Entertainment Authority through 2027, during which it would host two large-scale events in Saudi Arabia annually. Since then, WWE has held two shows in Saudi Arabia every year. Moreover, their partnership also witnessed the first-ever women’s match in the country.

ESPN’s reporter Mike Coppinger recently published an article containing comments from Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. The article states that Alalshikh mentioned an “enhancement” to WWE’s current deal with Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority that would be announced later this month. It also mentions that Alalshikh expressed hope about bringing the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia.
