Man pleads guilty in 2023 Albuquerque fatal shooting case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man has admitted to shooting and killing someone at a Motel 6 on Coors and Iliff in 2023. Jose Fitzpatrick shot Damon Howard at the motel.

Howard’s body was found on the second floor. Fitzpatrick was arrested a few days later after a six-hour standoff in southwest Albuquerque.

Monday, he plead guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter, escaping from police and receiving a stolen vehicle. A sentencing date has not been set.
