The episode, titled “Tanpopo,” starts with Taiyo having nightmares about his parent’s death. He meets up with Shion to discuss the drive. They discover that the Asano family had ties to the Yozakura family before birth. Upon hearing this, Mutsumi asks for a divorce, believing it was her family’s fault. However, Taiyo quickly denies the allegations.
Taiyo then enters the Library of the Dead to find information about his parents. He crosses the killer librarian Mei, who attacks noise makers in the library. Taiyo finds his father’s file and learns that Tanpopo carried out the hit on them. Suddenly, the book explodes, drawing Mei to its location. Taiyo is able to escape her grasp due to Mutsumi’s quick thinking.

Elsewhere, the protagonist tells Kyoichiro what he discovered about Tanpopo. Kyoichiro informs him that Tanpopo was also responsible for killing Mutsumi’s mother. After they trace a possible lead to the Kawashita Medical office, Taiyo and Mutsumi sneak into the hospital in disguise.
Later, Taiyo arrives at his office and discovers the doctor’s research into the Yozakura Family line. The study reveals that Makoto is after Mutsumi’s heart to continue his research. However, Taiyo is confronted by Makoto, who unmasks him. The episode ends with Makoto retreating, leaving Taiyo in the office.
