ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) has announced a new Netflix series will soon be in production. “The Boroughs” will be filmed in and around Albuquerque.
An NMFO press release says the production will employ over 2,000 New Mexicans – 275 crew members, 32 principal actors, and 1,934 background talent. The eight-episode supernatural mystery will star Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman.
The release states the show takes place in a seemingly picturesque retirement community, where a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have – time. Ben Taylor will direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. He will also serve as executive producer alongside the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt.
