The plot of Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale revolves around two polar opposite individuals, Moon Cha Min and Shin Jae Rim. Moon Cha Min belongs to an extremely wealthy Chaebol family. He also runs a social club and is the CEO. He is quite opinionated and has an upright, arrogant personality. Moon Cha Min does not believe in fairytale romances and does not like women who believe in that kind of romantic relationship.
Meanwhile, the main female character, Shin Jae Rim, is a woman who is completely different from Moon Cha Min. She has an opposite personality and values than him. She deeply believes in fairytale romances and also desires that kind of magical romance for herself. Shin Jae Rim begins working as the new manager at the social club run by Moon Cha Min. She takes the job to find her very own true love, her prince charming. She wants to get away from her distressing present existence, which is becoming quite unbearable for her.
However, after starting to work at the social club, Shin Jae Rim develops self-confidence and self-belief. She no longer wants to depend on anyone else and, finally, accepts her reality and learns to love herself. Jae Rim turns into an independent and responsible woman.
The interesting love story between Moon Cha Min and Shin Jae Rim begins after they meet at work. Initially, they do not like each other as they have opposite views on life and romance. They even start tormenting each other. However, with time, while working together, they start to develop romantic feelings for one another.
