New Mexico murder suspect arrested in Mexico after 16 years

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – U.S. Marshals have arrested a homicide suspect in Mexico. The man, 45-year-old Oswaldo Corral, was wanted in connection to a 2008 homicide in Mesilla Park, New Mexico, Doña Ana County officials say.

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office has been on the lookout for Corral for over a decade in connection to several additional crimes, including armed robbery, aggravated burglary, and alleged involvement in a 2008 shooting at the Las Cruces Sun Lanes Bowling Alley’s parking lot, officials say. Now, the sheriff’s office has Corral in custody.


Man accused of setting fire to preschool in California connected to crimes in New Mexico

The U.S. Marshals Service says Corral had been using a fake identity for years. Investigators had clues that Corral was in Mexico. Then, with help from Policía Ministerial de la Fiscalía Especializada en Operaciones Estratégicas and Instituto Nacional de Migracion, the Marshals Service captured Corral on May 22. He is now awaiting court in Doña Ana County.
