RUIDOSO DOWNS, N.M. (KRQE) – The horses are running again at Ruidoso Downs. The racetrack resumed normal operations this past weekend with its Rainbow Derby and Rainbow Oaks Trials.
The track had shut down on June 17 because of the wildfires and closed again when flash flooding struck.
Officials said the fires did not damage the track, but they are repairing a portion damaged by flooding. The Rainbow Futurity, one of the three legs of the Ruidoso Downs Quarter Horse Triple Crown, will be this weekend.
