PSD poll: Nicușor Dan is the favorite for Bucharest Mayor

Nicușor Dan is the favorite in the elections for the Capital City Hall, but if Cristian Popescu Piedone were to withdraw, Gabriela Firea would win, suggests a poll sent by PSD. According to the survey, carried out online by Epsilon Poll, if Gabriela Firea were to step back, Nicușor Dan would win.

The survey was conducted online between May 20-22 on more than 5,100 online identities and artificial intelligence was used to analyze the data, according to the document sent by PSD.

The results are different from the USR-commissioned IPSOS survey whose results were published on Thursday, according to which Nicușor Dan would win by a wide margin even if Popescu Piedone withdrew.

The survey suggests that Nicușor Dan (supported by Alianța Dreapta Unită) is in first place in the voters’ preferences, being rated with 29% of the votes. In second place is Gabriela Firea (PSD), with 25%, Sebastian Burduja (PNL) in third place, followed one percent away by Cristian Popescu Piedone – 16%.

If the hypothesis of the withdrawal of the candidate Popescu-Piedone is taken into account, then Firea would win with 35%, followed by Nicușor Dan – 31%, according to the survey provided by PSD.
On the other hand, if Firea withdrew, the elections for the Capital City Hall would be won by Nicușor Dan, with 35%, and Popescu-Piedone would have 26%.
Epsilon Poll has not been known so far among polling institutes.
