Over the past few years, several rising stars, such as Bron Breakker, Ilja Dragunov, Gunther, Grayson Waller, and Austin Theory, have made waves on the WWE roster, and it seems Randy Orton has high hopes for one of these talents.
In recent times, Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov have transitioned to the main roster, causing a significant impact on WWE RAW. Gunther, known for his dominance as Intercontinental Champion, continues to impress on the WWE main roster. Over at SmackDown, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory have been leaving their mark, including their recent tag team title victory at WrestleMania 40. Randy Orton has taken notice of Austin Theory’s recent performances.
In an interview with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, Randy Orton made a major prediction regarding Austin Theory, stating that he would be a future world champion. He stated, “I don’t have a crystal ball or anything, but Austin Theory is young and he’s got a great look. I know where his head’s at. I’ve had plenty of talks with him, and a lot of the things I did as a kid that I maybe shouldn’t have — the distractions that I was confronted with — he doesn’t have those. I think he’s just a little more gung ho, motivated, and he sees the goal, he sees the prize, he knows what he wants.”
He continued, “And I think he’ll definitely be a world champion one day. As far as someone becoming the youngest World Heavyweight Champion and taking that from me, I don’t see that happening. Only because it was a very special circumstance when I became the youngest world champion. I was 24 years old, and I don’t know if there’s anyone young enough … so I think I’m going to hold that for quite some time, if not, from here on out.“
How many times has Randy Orton battled Austin Theory in WWE?
Randy Orton, who praised Austin Theory’s recent work and predicted that he would be a future world champion, raises the big question of how many times the former WWE Champion has faced Austin Theory. The answer is once. Randy Orton faced Austin Theory only once in a singles match.
The match occurred on the March 1, 2024, edition of WWE SmackDown, where Orton defeated Theory. Although Orton has encountered Theory just once in a singles match, both stars have appeared together in the ring numerous times in tag team matches.
