Record warmth for some & drier

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Warmer-than-normal conditions aloft continue across The Land of Enchantment as mostly clear skies are continuing as well. It’s still rain-free with the very clear skies, very calm winds, and still relatively dry air despite the higher humidity out east, allowing for a few areas in the higher elevations to start of below freezing, while everywhere else is slightly warmer to start than yesterday with most ranging from the upper 30s to the 60s.

Despite the chill in the air to start, conditions will warm up to way above-normal criteria as temperatures mostly will rise across the region from the morning school commute into the 70s, 80s, and lower 90s by the afternoon, near record territory for some. Very clear skies will continue for the entire region.

Last week’s storm system is stubbornly still meandering to the east, but clear skies with higher pressure aloft will continue overhead, allowing for only very spotty rainfall across North New Mexico in the days to come with generally above-normal temperatures despite a couple of weak cold fronts.
