The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has revealed the lineup for their 2024 Induction Ceremony, set for Oct. 19 at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The iconic evening of rock stories will once again trace the roots and branches of popular music, with Dr. Dre, Slash, Dua Lipa, James Taylor, Busta Rhymes, Chuck D, Jelly Roll, Julia Roberts, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, The Roots and more composing this year’s list of special guests.
An eclectic mix of inductees will take the stage for the highly-anticipated Induction Ceremony, including acts like Cher, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Foreigner and Dave Matthews Band, who won the fan vote by more than 100,000 votes in 2020 and were nominated again in 2023. Fellow inductees Ozzy Osbourne and A Tribe Called Quest are set to attend, but not perform. The evening’s proceedings will also feature a special honor for Musical Influence, which will posthumously recognize Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton, and icons like Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield will be lauded for Musical Excellence.
Produced and directed by Tenth Planet Productions, with John Sykes, Joel Peresman and Joel Gallen as executive producers, this year’s star-studded affair continues a 41-year legacy of prestige for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “Every year the biggest names in music, film and culture step onto the stage at our ceremony to pay tribute to the iconic inductees whose music has defined generations,” said Chairman Sykes. He added, “These are once in a lifetime moments created that will be remembered forever.”
The ceremony will be broadcast live on Disney+.at 7:00 p.m. ET and remain available on the streaming platform afterward. ABC’s primetime highlight reel will go live the next day on Hulu and Disney+. Additional performers/presenters will be announced as the October event nears, with more information available at rockhall.com.
