Romania Wins Eight Medals, Including Two Gold, at European Geography Olympiad

The Romanian team obtained eight medals, including two gold, at the European Geography Olympiad.

“Between June 28 and July 4, 2024, the European Geography Olympiad (Xth edition) will be held in Belgrade, Kopaonik, Serbia. Romania obtains two gold, four silver and two bronze medals”, the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday.

The senior team consisted of:

Daniel Nicolae Hanganu, Iasi National College – gold medal;

Andrei-Ioan Moga, National College “Garabet Ibrăileanu” Iasi – silver medal;

Alex-Darius Topai, National College “Onisifor Ghibu” Oradea – bronze medal;

Mihnea-Ioan Şuţoiu, National College “Nicolae Titulescu” Pucioasa – bronze medal.

Junior team

Cosmin-Ioan Dulgheru, “Gheorghe Roşca Codreanu” National College Bârlad – gold medal and the highest score obtained in juniors;

Cristina-Daria Toderici, “Adam Müller Guttennbrunn” Theoretical High School, Arad – silver medal;

Andrei-Marius Ţiplic, “Gheorghe Lazar” National College Sibiu – silver medal;

Paul-Ioan Ţiplic, “Gheorghe Lazar” National College Sibiu – silver medal.

The batch coordinators are Prof. Mihaela Florina Alexandru, inspector in the Ministry of Education and Prof. Mihaela Cornelia Fiscutean from the National College of Iasi.
