Taos County Commission rejects Tarleton Ranch Eco-village project

TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – The Taos County Commission blocked a proposal to build a multi-use development on Monday. The Tarleton Ranch Eco-village was going to be built on 331 acres of land.

Report: Nearly 60% of New Mexico college students facing food insecurity

It would have included hundreds of homes, retail stores, and amenities like dog parks, trails, and athletic facilities. “They decided it was incompatible with the surrounding neighborhood and community because of its size and because of the number of exemptions that were requested from the zoning code,” said Patrick Trujillo, Taos County Attorney.

The project’s proponents have 30 days to appeal the decision.
