The New Gate episode 4 aired on Sunday, May 6, 2024, at 1:30 a.m. JST. The episode, titled “Beyond the Long Night,” sees Shin finally reuniting with Schnee Raizar after a long time. Moreover, the episode reveals his plans for the future.
Episode 4 of The New Gate begins with Schnee healing Riona’s knights after their battle with the skull. She leaves them to patrol the area while thinking of her reunion with Shin. Meanwhile, Shin, Lacia, and Wilhelm continue their quest for the purifying skill. Wilhelm showcases his weapon power, easily defeating a Skullface jack.

After finishing it, Lacia finally fulfills her quota and obtains the skill. They celebrate its completion, happy that they can finally save the orphanage from the greedy men. However, their celebrations are cut short when all the magic matter gathers together, forming a Level 804 Skullface Lord.
The monster summons a legion of undead to surround the trio. Wilhelm chooses to run, but Shin stays beyond to defeat them before they reach the city. Shin removes his limiter and buffs Wilhelm’s speed, allowing him to flee with Lacia successfully.

While Shin fights the undead, the sounds from his battle are heard by Schnee, who moves towards the location. Shin’s map shows him an ally approaching his location, and he goes to meet them. He arrives with Yuzuha in a flower field and meets Schnee, who rushes to embrace him. Yuzuha puts up a barrier to stop them from being interrupted.
After their emotional greeting, Yuzuha’s barrier falls, bringing them face-to-face with the Skullface Lord. They work together to cast a high-level holy skill, “sanctuary,” which deals with the low-level undead leaving the Lord. Shin slashes the monster with his blade, but before falling, the monster speaks, which startles Shin.

After the battle, Shin tells Schnee how he traveled through time and how he will arrive in the future. The latter then tells him of the seismic shifts and how they threw the continent into chaos, forcing the rest of the helpers to separate. He asks her to stop calling him master, as that would lead to numerous misunderstandings. She blushingly agrees and calls him by his name.
He tells her he will leave the new gate after finding a way through, which saddens her. Schnee changes the topic, suggesting a party at the Moon Sanctum when they arrive at the kingdom. Meanwhile, Yuzuha reveals she can talk and showcases her three tails to Shin, who asks her to publicly hide them.

They meet up with Wilhelm and Lacia, who are terrified at how they arrived. Elsewhere, Lady Riona and her knights find Shin’s weapon in the wreckage of the battle. The episode ends with one of the knights revealing that the only person who forges the blade is the legendary blacksmith.
