Warm and quiet day before high wind returns

Thursday morning is cool, clear and calm across New Mexico. Temperatures will be warmer today, climbing into the 60s, 70s and 80s. Winds will stay light, up to around 25 mph. Skies will be mostly sunny, with high clouds moving in from the west this afternoon and evening.

Friday will be warm, cloudier and windy. The winds will be around 35 to 60 mph on Friday, and even higher on Saturday. There will be high fire danger across the state on Friday and Saturday, along with other wind impacts like blowing dust and debris, wind damage and power outages. Rain and snow will move into western and northern New Mexico Friday night through Saturday. Temperatures will cool down by about twenty degrees on Saturday.
