More than 50,000 participants are expected at GRILLFEST, Europe’s largest barbecue festival, on May 10, 11 and 12 at Lagoo Snagov, near Bucharest, where they will meet 200 chefs from 10 countries. During the 3 days, visitors will experience a festival of tastes from around the world, live cooking shows, competitions, activities for children and live concerts. Entry to the festival starts at 11am and the fun continues until 11pm each day.
On Friday, May 10, at 12:00, the GRILLFEST 2024 opening festivity and the official opening of the barbeque season take place. The program on the main stage continues with the children’s fitness class, butchery masterclass, the “All You Can Eat – Burger Edition” contest dedicated to all festival participants, followed by live concerts by Loredana & Agurida and Diana Matei & Taraful Cleante.
On Saturday, May 11, the main stage hosts a premiere: Blade Masters – the competition of artisan knife makers in which 8 masters will compete in tests of endurance and finesse in front of the public. The “All You Can Eat – Hotdog Edition” contest and live concerts by Puya and Concert Connect-r follow on the same stage.
On Sunday, May 12, the main stage hosts the Blade Masters final followed by the blade show supported by the big winner, the “All You Can Eat – Mix Grill Edition” contest, and the day ends with Damian Drăghici & Brothers and Viorica & Taraful Clejanilor.
Throughout the festival, visitors will be treated to music and entertainment with live concerts on the main stage, DJ sets on the VIP Grillxperience by KAYO stage and Love BBQ Music mixes on the BBQ MIX Stage, outdoor fitness classes and yacht rides on Lake Snagov Children have a special program with the beloved characters Masha & the Bear in the amusement park with inflatable slides, trampolines and electric cars.
Also, during the festival there will be a series of sports activities for children at the boxing and martial arts arena and at the main stage where they can participate in fitness classes.
The cultural-culinary journey continues at the Barbeque Wheel where CROCOWHEEL Brazilian Churrasco show with Chef Paizao and Argentinian Asado BBQ show will take place every day, and in the 8 barbeque areas there will be live shows using grill techniques and BBQ products exclusives, tasting of Pălincă, Wine, Beer – “doboRât” brand, tasting of (Probably) the best sausages from Transylvania and tasting of whole roasted piglet.
In the area dedicated to artisans, the public will be able to participate in the Artisan Knifes Demo, exhibition and demonstrations with birds of prey and show cooking in the wild, and in the Professional Grill Area they will be able to learn more about professional equipment and barbeque accessories.
