This year’s Indie-Con will return to the idyllic Mercury Cinema in Adelaide (Kaurna), kicking off on Wednesday July 31 and running through to Friday August 2. Early-bird tickets went on sale this morning and will be available until Sunday June 30; they’ll run you $169 if you’re an AIR member (a saving of $60 from the normal price of $229) and $249 if you aren’t (down $50 from $299) – head here to grab yours.

Announced today were the first five international speakers on Indie-Con 2024’s conference program. Three key industry figures will be heading over from the US – Lisa Hresko (general manager at A2IM, aka the American Association of Independent Music), Nicole Ficenec (an independent producer and artist manager) and Emmy Feldman (the wave-making polymath behind indie publishing giant Heavy Duty) – while Scotland will be repped by Stuart Kennedy (a booking agent for ATC Live) and Germany will be repped by Ellie Rumbold (of Partisan Records).

Meanwhile, AIR also announced today that as of Monday July 1, membership fees for Australian label members will be significantly reduced. Where associate members would normally have to pay $300 GST per annum, they’ll now pay $175 (saving $125). The new fee for full members will also reduce from $600 to $375 (saving $225), while the fee for Australian distributor members will reduce from $1,500 to $900 (saving ($600).

Of course, membership for independent Australian artists will remain free. Head here for more info on all types of membership and eligibility.
