As of early July 2024, Showtime hasn’t greenlit the fifth season of Couples Therapy.
Given that it hasn’t been that long since the fourth season started streaming, Showtime is likely assessing its performance with the audience before deciding on the future of Couples Therapy. Since its premiere, the series has enjoyed a considerable audience base that has only expanded over the years.
One of the most unique aspects of the series is that it focuses on the therapy sessions and therapeutic process rather than marital and relationship drama. This was a conscious decision by Guralnik and the producers to demonstrate to the audience how therapy really works.
While this may have turned away the viewers seeking reality TV thrills, it has helped the show find its audience.
