Linda Evangelista a revenit la Met Gala, cel mai important eveniment de fashion, după o absență de aproape un deceniu. Deși ținuta ei a fost foarte rafinată, ea nu a respectat codul vestimentar al galei, „The Garden of Time” (in trad. – Grădina Timpului).
Pe 6 mai, la Muzeul Metropolitan de Artă din New York a avut loc Met Gala 2024, eveniment de fashion care a avut ca temă „Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, celebrare a textilelor de epocă și a creațiilor de modă de-a lungul anilor, iar codul vestimentar a fost „The Garden of Time” (in trad. – Grădina Timpului), inspirat de povestea cu același titlu a lui J. Ballard, scrisă în 1962.
Zeci de vedete și-au făcut apariția pe covorul roșu, printre acestea și supermodelul Linda Evagelista, care a ajuns la vârsta de 58 de ani. După nouă ani de absență de pe treptele celebrei Met Gala, Linda Evangelista a revenit în cea mai importantă seară a modei.

Pentru marele ei moment, supermodelul a purtat un look care o caracterizează. „Port foarte mult Khaite în viața mea reală”, a explicat ea pentru publicația de modă Vogue. Așa că a apelat la designerul brandului, Catherine Holstein, care a creat pentru ea o rochie albă elegantă, din mătase organică. „Mă simt atât de confortabil în ea și sunt foarte, foarte, foarte, foarte fericită”.
Linda Evangelista, în vârstă de 58 de ani, a accesorizat rochia cu mănuși lungi și transparente și o pereche de cercei candelabru, creație a designerului Ana Khouri, care a însoțit-o pe vedetă pe covorul roșu.
Legendarul model a participat la Met Gala de 11 ori înainte de ultima sa apariție în 2015, când tema a fost “China: Through the Looking Glass”.

Cinci ani a stat izolată Linda Evagelista din cauza unei proceduri estetice care a lăsat-o „permanent deformată”
Una dintre cele mai fotografiate vedete din lume, supermodelul Linda Evangelista a trăit timp de aproximativ cinci ani izolată, departe de ochii tuturor. În septembrie 2021 ea a mărturisit și motivul: intervențiile estetice eșuate au transformat-o. Mai exact, o intervenție în urma căreia ea a și cerut despăgubiri de 50 de milioane de dolari companiei responsabile.
„M-a lăsat permanent deformată, chiar şi după ce am trecut prin două proceduri de corecţie dureroase eşuate. Am rămas, aşa cum mă descrie presa, de nerecunoscut”, a mărturisit ea.
În februarie 2022, ea a pozat pentru revista People. „Nu mai pot trăi așa, ascunzându-mă și rușinându-mă”, a mai declarat ea. Ulterior, în august 2022, Linda Evangelista a făcut un pictorial pentru revista Vogue după ce a dezvăluit că a rămas desfigurată. „Aceasta nu este fața mea în viața reală, nu pot să mă plimb cu benzi și elastice peste tot”, a declarat Linda pe Instagram, după publicarea fotografiilor în revista Vogue.

„Încerc să mă iubesc așa cum sunt”, a mai spus ea în interviul acordat revistei. „Cred că suntem aici pentru a crea fantezii. Creăm vise. Cred că este permis. De asemenea, toate defectele mele sunt înlăturate în aceste fotografii, așa că trebuie să fac ceea ce îmi place să fac”, a mai declarat supermodelul.
