A criminal complaint filed on Tuesday stated that one day earlier, Katzenberger pistol-whipped a man in a road rage incident near Isleta and Rio Bravo. That victim said he recognized Katzenberger’s photo in a news article about the downtown shooting and notified police.

Katzenberger, who is already in custody, is now facing aggravated assault and reckless driving charges.
