Romania: Socialist Leader Marcel Ciolacu Announced Intention to Run for Presidency

The PSD president, Marcel Ciolacu, announced on Tuesday, August 20, through a message posted on social networks, that he decided to submit his candidacy for the Presidency of Romania after consulting with the Romanians, his family, and colleagues from the party.

The PSD leader specified that he will present the “Plan for Romania” at the Social Democratic Party Congress on Saturday, August 24.

“I decided to submit my candidacy for the Presidency of Romania. After consulting with the Romanians, my family, and my colleagues from the party, I made this decision. At the Congress on Saturday, I will come before the Romanians with my Plan for Romania and ask my colleagues for their support to win the presidential elections. Today, more than ever, Romania needs stability and balance. Romanians need assurance that they can have a better life by working. The country needs a president who cares about all Romanians. I am now ready to assume the responsibility of being the president of all Romanians. I believe that I can contribute to the future of my country – a safe and prosperous future. So help us, God!”
