Sundeep Kishan continues to impress audiences with his remarkable performances. Adding to the excitement, the Telugu OTT giant recently confirmed that Kishan’s Maayavan will be available on the platform. This announcement has further sparked buzz among the audience, as the film is returning to OTT after approximately six and a half years.
Maayavan initially premiered in theaters on December 14, 2017, with Sundeep Kishan portraying the protagonist and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff as the antagonist. Directed by C.V. Kumar, the cast also includes Lavanya Tripathi, Daniel Balaji, Mime Gopi, R. Amarendran, Bagavathi Perumal, and Jayaprakash, among others. Additionally, the filmmakers dubbed it in Telugu and marketed it as Project Z. However, in the box office collection, the film failed to generate much in Telugu states.
In 2014, the director began shooting with Naveen Chandra in the lead role, but the project was later shelved. However, C.V. Kumar revived the film in 2015, casting Sundeep Kishan as the lead and replacing Naveen. The official announcement followed in mid-February 2016, generating excitement among fans. After its original release in December 2017, makers dubbed it in Hindi and released it in 2019. Additionally, the satellite rights for the Hindi version were sold to Star India.

Excitement is brewing among fans as Aha Video recently teased the arrival of Project Z. The platform on X tweeted, “Get ready to ZOOM into action with #ProjectZ only on Aha!” has stirred anticipation among the audience.” Meanwhile, the streaming date remains undisclosed.
For those eager to watch it, the film is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film synopsis on Prime Video reads, “Sundeep Kishan plays a police officer, who is severely injured while trapping a murderer. A couple of months after recovery, he resumes his job and during the process of investigating the murder of an actress (Akshara Gowda) comes across similarities in the pattern of this murder with the previous ones. This takes him through a few more characters, who are in some way connected with these murders.”
