Malayalam superstar Mammootty will soon play an action role in his awaited film Turbo. It has been a while since his fans saw him in a full-fledged action movie, and the actor is leaving no stone unturned in its promotions. Recently, he spilled beans about his taxi driver character in the film and revealed he is not a goon. The actor did not stop himself from teasing more details about its plot.
Touted to be the most expensive movie of his career, Mammootty is also producing it under his banner, Mammootty Kampany. Vysakh has taken the director’s chair, while Justin Varghese is the music director. The movie is just a few days from its release, and fans are eager to learn more about its story.
Mammootty reveals details about his character in Turbo
According to OTTplay, Mammootty attended a press conference where he talked about Turbo’s plot. Despite the massive action in the film’s trailer, the actor revealed that his character, Jose, is not a goon or a mafia. Instead, Jose is a regular tourist driver in a remote location who gets into minor fights during festivals. He added that Jose has to face an opponent much stronger than him as his life takes a turn.
As he has often played a Christian man based in Kerala, he revealed that this one is different. Mammootty said, “I have created numerous characters with a Christian background and set in rural, hilly areas; nonetheless, each character is unique in their own manner.” The actor-producer confirmed that the movie will not be much humorous. “He does not have much time for comical moments because he gets into enough trouble and is trying to survive as well as protect his loved ones amidst all these problems.”
During the conference, Mammootty also confirmed that he is excited about the viewers’ reactions to Turbo. The movie will hit the theaters on May 23, 2024.
