On August 8, 2021, Bigg Boss made its debut on online streaming platforms as Bigg Boss OTT. Following two successful seasons, fans are eagerly looking forward to the third installment. However, recent reports suggest potential reasons that could lead to the cancellation of Bigg Boss OTT Season 3.
Karan Johar had hosted the first season of Bigg Boss OTT, followed by Salman Khan anchoring the second season. The inclusion of social media influencers in Season 2 contributed to its immense popularity. Additionally, it ended with Youtuber Elvish Yadav emerging as the winner, and Abhishek Malhan (aka Fukra Insaan) as the runner-up. In a similar manner, Bigg Boss Season 17 saw stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui winning the season, closely followed by Abhishek.
Prior to these speculations, earlier reports had confirmed a potential premiere date of May 15, 2024. Additionally, English Jagran shared a list of some potential contestants who might participate in the upcoming season. This includes Sheezan Khan, Maxtern, Pratiksha Honmukhe, Shehzada Dhami, Thugesh, Rohit Khatri, Soniya Singh Khatri, Mohd. Saria. Arhaan Behll, Dalljiet Kaur, Sreerama Chandra, Aryanshi Sharma, Sannket Upadhyay, Tushar Silawar, and Rohit Zinjurke.
Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 may not happen this year
Recent reports from Indian Express suggest that Colors TV and Jio Cinema have decided to postpone the airing of the third season. One potential reason behind this decision could be that Season 17 recently concluded in January. The concern is regarding the possibility of viewers’ over-exposure, which might entail the release of Bigg Boss OTT Season 3.
Therefore, to reduce the same, the makers are reportedly planning not to air Season 3 throughout this year. However, it is important to note that these are early speculations, and official confirmation from the makers is awaited.
As fans eagerly await, it remains uncertain whether the makers will announce the OTT release soon or opt to postpone it in the days ahead.
