Xzibit, D12 & Obie Trice's 3Twenty Australian Tour Expands, Adds Adelaide Date

90s rap and hip-hop fans rejoice, as the 3 Twenty Tour starring Xzibit, D12, and Obie Trice has expanded.

Twenty years ago, D12’s D12 World, Xzibit’s Man vs. Machine, and Obie Trice’s Cheers were released. The combined force of these hip-hop heavy hitters created a movement and fandom that resonates decades on.

To celebrate the 20-year milestone, D12, Xzibit, and Obie Trice are co-headlining their Australian 3 Twenty Anniversary tour, which will visit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, and Christchurch in June.

Previously only hitting the East Coast, the 3 Twenty Tour will now come to Adelaide. With the new date, the tour begins at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday, 20 June.

From there, the shows continue with the original dates: Brisbane’s Eatons Hill Hotel on Friday, 21 June, Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Sunday, 23 June, and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Tuesday, 25 June. Tickets are now on sale via Destroy All Lines.

In a recent interview with The Music, D12’s Swifty McVay discussed the “blessing” of becoming “an architect of hip-hop”.

“That’s what keeps me going,” McVay said. It takes me back to a space when I was trying to find myself as an artist. I would listen to all the architects of hip-hop, and they would inspire me to find myself until I found myself. They gave me the juice to continue what I needed to do.

“Once I found myself and was doing my thing, for another artist to come up and say, ‘You know what – it was because of you that I started rapping’… It makes me feel, wow, I’ve been given the juice from the architects and unknowingly given the juice to someone else, and they are going to reach a point when they are going to give the juice to someone else. And that’s what is going to keep hip-hop alive right there. It makes me feel good.”

On what ticketholders will experience at the shows, McVay added, “Expect high energy. I can say they [punters] will get that same nostalgia we left them with 20 years ago. That’s what it is all about: doing the same thing that captivated their hearts 20 years ago.”
